When some people learn of MaxGian's abduction, they say something along the lines that at least he is safe with his mother.  For those who have consistently observed Maika's behavior and parenting, the reaction is quite different.

Maika’s First Abduction (1989)

This is not the first time that Maika has abducted her own child.  Maika and her then-husband were living in Germany with Jonathan (aka Iani).  When Iani was 3 years old, she abducted him and took him to a cabin in South Lake Tahoe, California.  She told everyone that the father was abusive, didn’t love his son, and was too self-centered to quit his job and follow them to California.  Maika mocked him as he pleaded in vain for her to return to Germany with Iani.

Maika’s Second Abduction (2007)

The Affidavit of Natalie Faraca (Aug 2007) is written by a neighbor over 15 months prior to MaxGian's abduction by Maika. It describes a conversation between Maika and Natalie about Maika’s plans to leave with MaxGian.  Natalie and her husband, Tony, have two children, one of whom is MaxGian's closest friend.   Tony & Natalie’s disclosure of Maika’s plans initiated the divorce proceedings.  Fortunately, Maika’s planned abduction was foiled by the Faracas’ courageous action in coming forward.

The Findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law (Aug 2008) is the Ada County Magistrate Judge Reardon’s ruling from the divorce trial.  Among other things, it describes Maika's odd views, inappropriate behavior, and difficulties with others.   Providing this information is uncomfortable because it contradicts my belief that personal history and information should be kept private.  Unfortunately, there is a beautiful and vibrant boy, MaxGian, whose safety depends on my ability to help you understand the severity of being kidnapped by his mother.  I do this to raise your awareness, the community’s awareness, and to expedite MaxGian's return home.

Maika's Third Abduction (2008)

Unfortunately, this abduction has so far proved to be successful and is the reason that this website has been created.

A Father's Thoughts

As I now think about the life my son is forced to live, on the run from the law, and isolated in a place where he likely does not speak the language or have friends to play with, I hurt all over! He is dependent on the one person doing him the most harm.  Parents should love, provide for, and protect their children, as well as to carefully manage their children's exposure to life's challenges. I feel the agonizing pain, as do so many other left-behind parents, of not being able to do these things for our child. I feel the pain of not having protected MaxGian from this ordeal. It is especially difficult when the person I need to protect him from...is his own mother.  I know Maika loves MaxGian; unfortunately, it is not a healthy love. A Fathers's Request (link)
